6 ft Plywood Pram Dinghy, Design #97
| These little prams were designed as tenders. The 6 ft pram is a light, easily handled boat that can be pulled up over the transom to reduce drag when steaming long distances. It is probably the minimum size for a two-person tender. The 7 ft 9 in version is similar, with a bit more carrying power. | ||||||||||||||||||||

7 Ft Clinker Pram Dinghy, Design #80Construction: Lapstrake on bent frames |
Here is real boat building in miniature. At one time the clinker pram was the ubiquitous small yacht tender and this one is a particularly sweet example. We have build a number of these over the years, modifying the design to the point where there is no improving it. A good place to start if you want to learn traditional techniques. Photos of the prams may be seen in the Custom Building Projects section. |

8 Ft Plywood Yacht Tender, Design #135Construction: Glued clinker plywood. |
Flat floors and good load carrying make this a practical tender despite its small size. Construction is ¼inch plywood laid up over temporary molds, eight strakes per side, lapped and glued. There are two rowing positions and large built-in buoyancy tanks fore and aft. The combination of light weight and tight, durable construction make it ideal for stowing on deck or in davits. |

9 and 10 Ft Clinker Yacht Tenders, Design #104 and #105Construction: Lapstrake on bent frames |
This plan contains two designs that were drawn as tenders for larger boats. They are big enough to carry three people or lots of gear, and still small enough to stow on deck or in davits. Properly built they can be exquisite examples of real boat building. Photos of the 9 ft. 6 in. transom sterned boat are here, in the Custom Building Projects section. Construction photos of the 10 ft. double-ended version follow on the next page. |

10 Ft Clinker Dinghy, Design #127Construction: Lapstrake on bent frames |
A nice addition to our family of small clinker boats. This one has a little more deadrise than those drawn as yacht tenders. It should be a good all round rowboat and a great building project for those interested in traditional methods. The plans are drawn 1½ in = 1 ft and are very fully detailed, including a stem lofting sheet and full fastening schedule. |

11 Ft Plywood Yacht Tender, Design#120Construction: 3 panel plywood |
This one was designed to sit in the deck chocks of a converted fishboat. It is a pretty little boat and a very simple one to build. Its main function is to provide shore transportation under oars or outboard motor. It is also fitted with a daggerboard and a standing lugsail for pottering under sail. All spars will stow inside the boat. Large buoyancy tanks fore and aft add positive floatation in the event of swamping. Construction is very simple and consists of three panels of plywood bent over temporary molds with seams lapped and glued. Plan scale is 1½ in. = 1 ft. |

12 Ft Clinker Dinghy, Design #130Construction: Lapstrake on bent frames |
This is a new design that I would expect to have wide appeal. It is similar in model and construction detail to #127, but two extra feet make it a lot more boat. A dagger board and standing lugsail add to the versatility and enjoyment. Swallows and Amazons fans will know what it is all about. The plans are very fully detailed and drawn 1½ in = 1 ft. |

12 Ft Double-Ended Rowboat, Design #126Construction: Carvel on bent frames. |
This one's a fairly recent design and still on the must-build list for us. It should be a dandy. The light carvel planking is set off with a lapped sheerstrake Seams will be payed with a bead of elastomeric caulking to keep her tight out of the water. This will be real boatbuilding, so the skill level is noted as high, but it should not be a difficult one. The shape is quite slack and easy to plank and frame. Getting a good ft in the rabbets at either end will be the test. |

13 Ft 6 In Clinker Rowboat, Design #86Construction: Lapstrake on bent frames |
An elegant, English-style rowboat. The hull is flat floored and stable. Although this is no racer, it is an ideal boat for pleasure rowing, fishing, or whatever you wish. Firm bilges and planked tuck make it a challenging piece of work requiring the full range of boat building skills - do a good job and we will give you your shipwright's papers! More photos here. |
